wearing Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Coffee Bean
Freaks. Crazies. Zealots.

Those who don’t understand often refer to us by those terms…
No importa. At some point — and it’s usually when you find yourself laughing hysterically while clutching two handfuls of lip liners and foaming at the mouth — you realize THIS IS who I AM!
I am the lipstick lovin’ girl who finds the prospect of a fresh crop of fall lip liners to wear with rich reds, plums and browns even more thrilling than watching Ryan Gosling bust out the dirty dancing moves.

Yes, strangers accuse me of radical lip liner love. Do they have a point? Absolutamente. but I don’t think it’s fair to call me an addict, per se.
More like a devoted practioner. A lip liner champion. A fighter for lined lips everywhere!
The latest addiction addition to my list of loves? — these two new members of the Laura Mercier Lip liner permanent line ($20 each).
The shades I’ve been switching back and forth between — true Red and Coffee Bean — are two of seven new pencils in the line. The others are Carnation, Crushed Berry, Deep Wine, Praline and warm Poppy.
I love the way warm true Red works with NARS Heatwave lipstick and MAC lady Danger, and Coffee Berry, a rich brown, pairs perfectly with MAC Paramount.

The Laura Mercier Lip Pencils
The creamy, easy-to-blend formula glides on smoothly, and it doesn’t dry out my lips (yay!).
They’re a touch softer than my beloved MAC Lip Pencils but don’t seem to last as long on my lips, and I usually have to reapply them after a meal.
At $20 for a 0.05-ounce stick, they’re not cheap. MAC Lip Pencils, by comparison, cost $15 for a pencil of the same size.
I sure dig the texture, formula and colors, but I wish they were cheaper and lasted longer.
PRICE: $20 each

Your feelings on fringe?
I was browsing online for boots this morning and noticed that there seems to be a lot of foot fringe happening this fall…
I’m not sure how I feel about this.
Part of me likes the idea of the fringe gently waving as I walk — kinda like one of those fringe flapper dresses, except for your feet.
The Sam Edelman Luella Boot, $290 (!), available now at zappos.com
But my practical side keeps thinking, “Tabs is gonna trip me up! He’ll be going after these like they’re cat toys.”
